Galloway style it is....

After many false starts yesterday, and I had to Google the front leaning rest position, but your 10 and 10 ratio was just what it took. YAY! I may never lift my arms again, and I was going to do video but didn't think I'd pull it off so didn't get the camera out... oh well. Did you order your shirt?

100 Pushups/ Galloway Style!

Well I tried to do my pushup test Sun and on my 50th one my son jumped on my back and I just couldn't do it.

Mon. Tried to do it again and stopped @ 50. I think 50 is just a mental block so I woke up this Tues morning and vowed to do the 100 pushups- Galloway style.

After every 10 pushups I took a rest. I didn't get out of position but I just rested in the front leaning rest position(approved by the Army! LOL) I felt like I could have done more and then rested after my first 10 but I decided to stick with my ratio- 10 pushups, rest 10 seconds 10 more.

Today I finally completed 100!

Day 2

Surprisingly......easy.

All of a sudden I just wasn't struggling...

Only took a few weeks to get to this point...Can't wait for Day 3 and the TEST! I think I'll buy the shirt that I did the hundred before my test for incentive.

Well, I didn't do the test. I have been following column 3 throughout and thought I'd stick with it.


45,50.35,30, and 56, I can barely lift my arms to type.

On a side note... Galloway confirmed for Mon March 16th in Hinsdale. YAY!

Test!

Completed week 5 progress test. Did 50...consecutively in good form...did the rest in not so good form.(I sware I tried!) Perhaps I shouldn't have tried to do any hand balancing beforehand. I am going to blame that on my weak performance on the test. I wore myself out.

That's my test and i am sticking too it. Regardless..I passed enough to advance to week 6.

Week 6 -tomorrow! Yeah!

W5 D1

I did swim homework last night and have swim class tonight so the arms are feeling it. I am sure they will be really feeling it tomorrow. Today 36,40,30,24 and 34. That last set is just eluding me now.... Longer rest 26.... At least the next couple days have lower reps and more sets.

Week 5 test

I did my test this morning after some ball tucks and 46. It looks like the reps get lower and number of sets higher. Maybe by the end I'll be able to do one pull up by myself? What do you think?

Again...yikes! I must not be resting enough between sets or ?? I also waited until later in the day when I normally do this in the morning, first thing. I didn't quite make the reps I was supposed to, but gave it a bit longer and pulled an extra last set out. Maybe I just like doing that extra set....

20,25,15,15,25 and 1/2 but I don't think the half counts. I was really trying to come back up for that one more but just couldn't do it.

Week 3 Day 1

Just not feeling it today. Maybe it's the snow? I managed 14,18,14,14 but only 17 for the last set. Even the 14s were a struggle today. Well, it is in the past, focus on day W3D2.

EDIT: OK take 2. I just couldn't let myself whimp. I took a bit longer break...3ish minutes and forced myself to redo that last set. 21.

Week 3... Here we go

I have posted both column 2 and column 3. I an going to try for column 3 but also to try to concentrate on my form more. Day 1 looks OK, day two... ummm... day 3... Yikes! We'll see how it goes.

Progress Test!

Ok...so I did the test on Sun. 25 pushups total. 21 in good form. 22-25 sucked. So I shall stick with 21 as my number and head on to column 2 for week 3.

Since the pushups are increasing I may hold off on those pullups for now or only do a few after my pushup workout.

End Week 2... 1/3 of the way

It just occured to me that in on W2 D3 I did over 100 pushups. Not consecutive, but 101 total. Wow! I didn't know I had it in me! And you are doing pullups too? You are awesome! How do you feel? I'm pumped! 25 for the test? I say we go for it and keep ourselves in column 3. 2 down 4 to go! Woot!

Did day 3 yesterday. Wow I feel it. Unable to do pullups afterwards. Nervous about the test. I'm going to tape myself. How about you?

Week 2 Day 2

I made 14,16,12,12, and 20. Well, maybe 19....that 20th one felt a bit shaky. One more day and we test a gain. Is our last set the test or should it be a separate 1 set, as many as you can test? Column 3 needs 25? What do you think?

Week 2!

Ok...15 pushups just about killed me but I managed. Afterwards I went to the playground and practiced my pullups. Surprisingly I knocked out 1!! I shocked myself. Maybe all this upper body work is finally paying off! We have to test ourselves at the end of this week. A part of me wants to take the easy way out and do the minimum so I can go to column 1....but I promise I won't. I won't sell myself short. I will try to get into column 3 for next week.

Day 3!

Finished Day 3. Thank god. I know that the number 15 is a mental block. I don't know why it should be. I did more pushups when I was in the Army. Well, time to stop being lazy! Felt so good after doing my pushups that I decided to be all hardcore and do some pullups.

My pullups suck! So I decided to do what I do best and just run!
